Reinforce bases
In Rivality, strategic gameplay is important to become the player who dominates the world. One powerful tool you can use is unit reinforcements. You can send and receive reinforcements from your own and other players’ bases. In this guide we’ll show you how to reinforce another alliance member’s base.
Send reinforcements
Start out by viewing the base you want to send reinforcements to (the base you want to support):
Click the ”support” button and you’ll se a window opening. The tab that says ”Reinforce” should be selected as default, and you can see all units from the own base you last viewed. Select the units you want to send off as reinforcements and click ”Send”.
You can follow the units if you go to the base you sent the units from, and open the activity folder.
When you’ve sent the reinforcements you’re still paying their hourly cost, but as soon as they reached the other player’s base, the cost will shift to that base.
Send reinforcements home
You can see all reinforcements you’ve sent from your base and reinforcements you have received to the base by clicking on the activity folder and reading under the reinforcements box:
To see the reinforcements you have sent to other bases from your own base you’re currently viewing, click ”Yours”. To see reinforcements sent from other bases to the base you’re currently viewing, click ”Others”.
To send your reinforcements home, go to the tab that says ”Others” and click ”Send home” next to the units you want to send back home, and your reinforcement will be on their way back:

Attacks in Rivality
Attacking is a crucial part of Rivality’s game play. You attack other players to become a respected player, gain XP and loot other players for money.Attacks can be the most powerful tool in the toolbox if you use it well.
To attack another player’s base, you have to make sure you have units produced in the base you want to send the attack from. Begin by finding a base you want to attack and go to the base view of the base. You can find enemy bases by going to the map, if you haven't already have found a base you want to attack.
Now you have to plan the attack. Click the red attack button in the bottom menu, and a new window will open, the attack view:
There are two types of attacks in Rivality: ”Normal (kill and destroy)” and ”Loot”.
Normal attack
The normal attack will allow your attacking units to try destroying both units and buildings in the enemy’s base. You will not be able to receive (loot) any money from the enemy, but you will receive XP for the enemy units and buildings you destroy and damage.
Loot attack
A loot attack will send off your attacking units to try to loot as much money as possible from the enemy base. The attacking units will only be able to loot the enemy base’s money that is not stored in a vault.
The units protecting the enemy base have to be killed in order to loot the base – as long as there are enemy units in the base, you will not be able to loot anything. The attacking units will never destroy or damage any buildings during a loot attack, but will get XP for the units killed and money if the attack is won.
Now, choose an attack type and how many units to send in the attack and click ”Attack”. The units that currently are in your own base you last visited (if you have multiple bases) will be displayed in the units list. The units listed in the attack view are the units you can select to attack the enemy base:
If you want to send an attack with units that are inside another of your bases (if you have multiple), you have to view that base prior to planning the attack inside the enemy base.
When you have sent the attack by clicking the ”Attack” button, you can see the attack and the time left before the attackers reach the target in the attack queue inside your own base by clicking the activity folder and choosing the ”Attack” tab to the left:
When the attacking units have reached the enemy base and finished the attack, an attack report will be sent with the outcome to your inbox:
The attacking units who survived will return to your base. The time to return home will be the same as the time it took to reach the target when you first sent the units.
Conquer other players’ bases
Conquering an enemy base can give you advantages, such as taking a strategic position on the map or taking control over another player’s base resources inside the base.
To conquer another player’s base you have to construct an academy building. An academy will allow you to train a general. You can only have one general at a time in each base.
When you have trained a general, you must send an attack towards the base you want to conquer and include a general among the units. The attack type should be ”Normal attack”.
Each time you make a successful attack (win the attack), the enemy base administration building will be lowered by one level, as long as the general is included in the attack.
When the administration building is destroyed you need to send a last attack. If you win the attack the base will be conquered. If the base has no administration building, you will automatically conquer the base if you make a successful attack with a general included.
Remember that you will never be able to conquer a player base that is an HQ base.
Collect resources and earn money
In Rivality you make money to your base in order to upgrade your base with new buildings and objects, and grow a strong military force to finance wars. In order to earn money you gather oil that you can sell for money. By upgrading your oil pumps you will get oil faster that you can sell, and by upgrading your refinery you can get more money per sold barrel.
In each base there are resource spots where you construct buildings that are specifically designed to retrieve, store and refine oil to make money to the base.
Oil pump
The first step is to pump up the oil from the ground. For this, you need an oil pump. When you start with a new base, there are two empty spots where you can construct oil pumps:
Click on one of the empty oil spots (the spots with black oil coming up from the the ground). A construction window will open:
You can see that the only building that is possible to construct on the spot is the oil pump. Click the oil pump to get more information about the building, and click "Construct". If you have enough money, the oil pump will start constructing:
As soon as the oil pump has finished constructing, you can click on the oil pump get more information about the building, such as how fast the pump pumps oil. You will also see an upgrade button that will allow you to upgrade the pump. An upgraded oil pump will pump oil faster. Building multiple oil pumps will also make you pump up oil faster.
In the bottom of the page you can see how many barrels/hour your oil pumps pump up from the ground.
Oil Refinery
When you've retrieved oil from the ground using the oil pump, you need to refine the oil in order to sell it. When you start playing your oil tank will already be full, so no need to wait to sell the oil the first time. You can only have one oil refinery in each base. There are two spots in the base where you can build the refinery, select one and click construct:
When the refinery construction is completed, click on the refinery. Inside the window you will see a sell button. By clicking the sell button you will see the amount of oil decreasing and your base money increasing. Inside this building view you also see how much you get paid per barrel, and you can upgrade the refinery by clicking the upgrade button:
By upgrading the refinery you will get paid more per sold barrel.
Oil Tank
Initially you don't have any oil tank in your base and can therefore only store a low amount of oil before the pumps have to stop pumping. That means that you have to be more active selling off the oil so the pumps never stop pumping. If you construct an oil tank in one of the large spots, you don't have to sell your oil as often.
There are two spots where you can construct an oil tank. Click on one of the spots and construct the tank:
Company guide
Companies
There are three kinds of companies in Rivality. Constructing a company building in the HQ will let a player research new units and unlock new abilities in the game. There are three different kinds of companies: Infantry company, Armor company and Air company - all specialized in its own units and abilities. Because the number of abilities is limited to one, the player can only make a company selection once every round of the game. Each company has its own unique features and therefore makes the choice of company strategic.
Constructing a company
In the bottom of an HQ base, there is a building spot designated for the company building. In order to construct a company the player has to have at least 10 000 XP. Click the spot, and construct the building. Shortly, the company building is constructed.
Unlock new units and abilities
When the company building is constructed, click the building to open up the company window. In the company window, the different abilities and units that can be unlocked are displayed. Each ability or unit can only be unlocked if the unit or ability to the left has already been unlocked, and the player has enough company points. Different abilities and units require different amounts of company points, and different companies also require different amounts of company points to unlock the different abilities as they are different in every company.
Company points
To unlock an ability or unit, the player has to gain company points, explained above. Company points are earned by making company missions. The player can find the different company missions by hovering the Rivality logo, selecting missions in the menu, and then clicking the company tab. The different company missions are similar to regular missions, but are awarded with company points and are often closely related with the game play of the game.
Changing company
It is not possible to change the choice of a company in a game server before the end of the current game round, and the next round has started.

Endgame
There are three major lost cities in the world of Rivality. These lawless cities have seen centuries of war and are heavily damaged after all the fighting. The citizens have lost all hope, and the cities have no strong leadership.
If you can control one or multiple of the cities, you will be able to gain influence in the world of politics, oil and economics in a strategically positioned location in the world.
Rules
Each day, all players and alliances in Rivality get 1,000 endgame points. For every city controlled, you will get an additional 1,000 points every day. When a player or alliance reaches 30,000 points, world domination is achieved and the round ends.
The city inhabitants support the one who controls the city, but military production or dirty oil pumps will not be allowed to be constructed in the city. To hold the cities, you must therefore reinforce them with money and units that protects the citizens against your enemies to win them over.
This is a hard mission to do on your own, and will likely gain from cooperation with other players in an alliance. In Rivality, an alliance can dominate the world together.
You can follow the end game progress in the welcome box by clicking the Rivality logo. On top, the progress bar show your status. Each day there is a total of 1,000 endgame points added to the progress bar to each player and each alliance. If you are in control in one or multiple cities, the bar will increase faster. As soon as you or another player or alliance reaches 30,000 points, the endgame is over and either a player or alliance will dominate the world.
In the bottom left of the endgame/welcome box there is a top list to show the three leaders of the endgame. There could either be a player or a whole alliance leading the endgame.
Competing in Rivality as an alliance
As stated above, an alliance can dominate the world. Each day all alliances get 1,000 endgame points just like the players. If an alliance member captures a city, the points are added to the alliance, not to the player. Alliance leaders can not kick alliance members while the alliance holds a city. This adds a strategic twist to the endgame and prevents players from joining a winning alliance, and the alliance leader to kick out alliance members at the last seconds before winning the round.
If a player captures a city, loses it and then join an alliance, the player's end game points are lost, they will not be transferred to the alliance. Even if the player leaves the alliance to fight on his own, the end game points he had before will be lost.
How to capture a city
First you have to start with finding a city. The lost cities are randomly spread across the map and all have different random names. As soon as you know where the city is located on the map, you can click the city and plan an attack. We have written a separate guide how attacks are planned in our guide section.
As there are no military forces in the city, there will be no battles. As soon as your general has reached the city, you will be in control of the city unless there is another player reaching the city before you.
If there is another player already in control of the city, you will have to fight the other player to win control. Conquering a lost city works the same way as conquering another player's base (see separate guide in the guide section).
Build and reinforce the city
When you are in full control of the city, you will be able to construct strategic buildings in the center of the city to strenghten control and keep the citizens safe. There are a variety of buildings and objects that you can construct to obstruct your enemies.
Spy on enemy bases
To gather valuable intelligence about enemy bases such as units, money, bonuses and administration level, you can send a spy to infiltrate the enemy base. If the spy survives the infiltration attempt she will send an intel report to your inbox.
Unlock access to spy
Begin by constructing an academy in one of your bases:
When the academy is completed, you can click the academy building and train the spy:
You can only have one spy in each of your bases.
Infiltrate enemy base
When the spy is completed, go to the enemy base you want to infiltrate. In the enemy base view, click the ”Send Spy” button to send the spy:
As soon as the spy has reached the target she will try to infiltrate the base, and if she succeeds to infiltrate, send you an intel report.
Will the spy succeed in infiltrating the base?
If the enemy base you’re trying to infiltrate does not have an enemy spy inside the base, your spy will not be detected. When she’s infiltrated the base she will send you an intel report to your inbox.
If the enemy base houses a higher level spy, your spy will be detected and captured. But if the enemy spy level is lower than your spy's, your spy will succeed. If the two spies' levels are equal, the total offensive amount of units against infantry in the base is compared to the spy level.
The spy in the defending base will not be killed if the base is infiltrated.
How do I level up my spy?
Every time you send your spy on a mission to a base housing a lower level spy, your spy will level up. The maximum level of the spy is 10.
Create additional bases
When starting Rivality you only have one base. But to become a powerful player and dominate the world, you will likely need to create additional bases that will enable you to produce more military forces faster.
Begin by constructing an academy. In the academy you will be able to produce engineers. You need 50 engineers in one base in order to create a new base:
When you have 50 engineers, go to an empty spot in the map. Click the spot to open the construction window. Hover the ”Construct base here” button to see the cost, what XP you need and the number of engineers required to construct the new base. For each base you create the required XP to create a new base will increase. If you don’t have enough XP it will let you know when you hover the button:
If you have enough XP, money and engineers, you will be able to click the construction button. The time to construct a new base is the same as the time for the engineers to reach the empty spot from the base you’re sending the engineers from. You can see the time to completion by going to the base the engineers were sent from and clicking the activity folder:
When the engineers have reached the destination, you will have a new base to use. The engineers will have to maintain the new base, so you can not use them to construct additional bases.
You can access the new base by hovering the base icon in the top menu.
Tournament guide
A tournament is an intesive game mode in Rivality where a limited number of players play during a limited time. The tournaments will work as independent game worlds, so they will never interfere with normal Rivality gameplay.
To participate in a tournament, players must pay the buy-in using credits. The number of spots are very limited, so one must be fast to get one. The buy-in credits together, minus a 30% commission, make up a pot which will be awarded to the winner of the tournament. Larger tournaments with more players means that the pot will be larger. It works very similar to a poker game.
The tournament will start at the given date and time. A tournament is played until there is only one player left in the game.
The remaining player is the winner.
When a tournament begins, all players who have bought in will get one base to start with. There are no HQ:s or safety nets to protect you. If you lose all your bases, you are out of the tournament. It is not possible to play in the tournament before the start date is reached. The rules of a tournament have been created to make the game faster and even more action packed than a standard Rivality game.
- A player’s objective is to conquer as many bases as possible during the tournament. The player who has conquered most bases after all other players have been eliminated is the winner. If there are multiple players with the same number of conquered bases, the winner is the player with the highest XP.
- All players start with one base. All bases can be conquered by other players. If a player loses all his or her bases, the player is eliminated.
- All players compete against each other, it is not possible to create alliances.
- There is no way to spend real money or credits in the tournament after the buy-in. There is no shop, VIP or other advantages in the game. It is not possible to extend the base or upgrade the roads. However, it will be possible to sell all oil at once for everyone.
- After 5 days, 10% of all bottom players are eliminated every day. The players that will be eliminated during the coming elimination are marked in red in the top list.
- Each player may construct up to 2 additional bases during the tournament. If he or she loses them, it will not be possible to construct any more bases.
- When a player conquers another player’s base, the base is removed from the game. Conquering a base will increase the player’s elimination points by one.
- When there is only one player left, the game is over. The winner will be awarded the whole pot.
- If you buy more credits than necessary for the Buy-in, the excess will go to your main game world account, which you may change in the settings panel. This also applies to any winner credits.
